Sickest beat ever!!

Postby Radford » Jan 19 2011

This is pretty sick!

I was playing in a live tournament yesterday. We are near the bubble with 25 players remaining. I am something like 3rd in chips. With the chip leader being OTB. We was kind of deepstacked too. It was folded to me and i raise 2.5x with :6d :7d The button flats.

Flop :7c :7s :7h

I lead for like half the pot. He raises. I raise. He shoves. I call. He shows :Qc :Qd .

Turn :Qh

River :Qs

Game over! :(

A very good chance, given that it's a perfect 989:1-er and no worse beat is possible in hold'em.

Too bad you weren't playing on a site that had a progressive bad beat jackpot. When I used to play at Absolute  I think this might have hit it (can't remember tho it might have had to be quad eights or better...)

BBJs almost invariably require(d) both the winning and losing hands to use both hole cards.
