New Year Resolutions

Postby leofric » Dec 30 2011

Seems to be the right forum for this.......... :)

I need to start making the same sort of profits in cash that I used to in MTTs - about a grand over 12 months would do.

With that in mind I need to play more - starting by increasing the number of tables to 4!

Also look to be playing 50NL by about July.

Go from bronze status on Party to Gold

So this time next year I'm clearing my Xmas credit card statement from my bankroll!

Re: New Year Resolutions

I'm going to be pretty boring and just try and get myself in good physical shape. I got myself in good condition over the summer and have kind of let it go the last few months.

On a poker front 2011 was the year where I quit after the whole FTP issue, only for me to return during the summer and actually enjoy playing. I only play when I want now and try and stick to HU and 3 handed, it's made a world of difference to how I view poker. Having a rough look at my results I made around $11k over the year which I'm pleased with considering my volume. As long as I have an edge I'm going to keep playing and feel fortunate to be able to make a side income in obviously tough times.

Re: New Year Resolutions

Postby Llanlad » Jan 04 2012

There is no point in me doing new year resolutions

My only goal this year is to work hard at whatever i do .. i really need to work on my work ethic ... and i accept that ive been a lazy arse for too long now.

Putting up with hawk's wisecracks has obviously had a effect on my moral over the years ... i shall be heading a new group that shall be attempting to put an end to internet bullying .... these people need to be made aware that their actions will no longer be tolerated .

Ive played no poker at all this month ... just have so much work to do its bloody madness ... but again this is partially due to me not working hard enough throughout the year ...

Their will be big changes this year .... this is a new year resolution that i fully intend to achieve.

You would probably know more about my domestic circumstances if you weren't so self-absorbed with "bad beats"

Would it help to suggest ive finally changed ?? :-k

Bad beats are part of poker ... so are A flops, so are runner runners, so are tilt issues with some players ... 8-[

Its all water under the bridge ....

I now realise i have far pressing issues than worrying about A flops ... life is too important to worry about stuff i have no control over ..

I now only concentrate on issues i can resolve through work ethic and perseverance =D>

As Andy Gray would say .... take a bow son 8)

Dunno where you've been for the past year or so, but I've been in Norway for most of it (which is where I am now). And my missus is English, although you'd never know it either from looking at her passport nor hearing her speak Norwegian.

Poker Goals: Playing on PokerStars by year end. Get my cash out of Full Tilt. :?
Life Goals: Drop down to 180 pounds and be in La Junta Colorado by year end.

That last part needs some 'splainin'.

My wife and I purchased a Freemotion 770 treadmill in November. It uses iFit and Google maps. You draw out a route anywhere there is a GoogleMap Streetview and walk it.

My plan is to walk across America. From my house in the SF Bay Area to Sacramento and then along Highway 50, 3,073 miles to Ocean City Maryland. I finished the first leg this morning. I made it to the western terminus of Highway 50. Only 3,071 miles to go. I figure 1,000 miles a year for 3 years. I figure 1K puts me somewhere around La Junta Colorado.

Pi, I applaud you and your goals. That would be a goal of epic proportions to accompish. I, Myself have gone on the Resolution bandwagon to lose weight and am down 4 lbs since I began.

Here's to us both... =D> \:D/

Re: New Year Resolutions

Postby leofric » May 14 2012

Just thought I'd bump this up to let everyone know the excellent progress I've been making this year!

I'm still generally playing 3 tables

I've dropped DOWN to 10NL

My only hope of making gold is if some 2+2 hacker gets into my account and luckboxes me up to a few k

But..............

The 10NL level is comfortable - I just concentrate on putting time in on weekends and exploiting the VPIP 50+

Despite some downturns I'm still up just short of 20 buy-ins since switching - over such a small sample this is good.

My b/roll got a nice shot in the arm with a $200 first place from a $1000 freeroll :D

Oh and I lost half a stone (good) but the Mighty Bulls got relegated (less so!)
