What's considered good expectation for NL ring game income?

Postby filimaica » Jan 25 2009

Hello all, I'm not sure which forum this post belongs, thank you for seeing it to the right place.

I've read and heard that, for those who play online NL cash games, a standard "good" income expectation is "6BB/100" hands. (I've heard that BB means either "Big Blind" or "big bet", but I assume it means Big Blinds).

What is considered a good win rate for live NL cash games? Of course, far fewer hands are played live, so I'd imagine the expected win rate must be drastically different. . . but I could be wrong. Thank you for your feedback regarding this.

Convention for NL is to use what's known as ptBB or "poker tracker big bet" which is twice the big blind (hence analogous to the "true" big bet in limit poker). No idea on live win rates.
