Would someone be so kind as to check my numbers, please. I see that the Carbon Poker network (and maybe others, too?) are offering "double up" SNGs. There are a variety of buy-ins, and the fee structure for all is 8%. You start with 10 players and play down to 5, at which point everyone receives double your buy-in. If you buy-in for $1.08 then if you make the top 5 you are paid out $2.
In essence you are risking $1.08 to win 92 cents.
I make this out to mean you have to win 54% of the time to break even.
0.92x = (1-x)(1.08 )
Have I figured this properly?
Then, if I have 40% rakeback on tournament fees, I am really risking $1.05 (rounded) to win 92 cents, yes? For 53.3% break even requirement?
