OFFICIAL BINK A DINK MILL RUN THREAD

Postby dankimball » Jan 18 2011

START THIS SUNDAY OR FIRST SUNDAY OF FEB AND DO 2 THAT MONTH. ONE RUNNER A MONTH.

1.elmo
2. Dank
3.yanks
4. Dye
5. nside
6.fen
7. pi
8. nuke
9. tp
10.paulif
11.hawk
12.mx

-MAKE IT EZ GO AHEAD AND SHIP UR 18$ TO THE HORSE THAT IS PLAYING THAT MONTH.

-IF U NEED TO TRADE WITH SOMEONE PLZ PM THEM AND THEN POST UPDATE HERE

-50/50 on the entire payout up to 5k and then 65/35 after that

-player is not part of the share split, so each other backer would get 4.545454545% of the pool.

- 65% to the player and 35% to the backers over 5k.

-late reg is ok

- no problem with the player making whatever chop they think is best. At that point, they have 65% of their own action anyhow...but input from the backers is welcome but the player has final SAY!

Think this is a good idea, but definitely should update the list with our Stars S/N to make it easy on the xferring folks. For now, Elmo, what's your Stars S/N so I can ship over the $18 to you and Dankimball (havana)

I thought we weren't pre-shipping. I don't mind, but I don't see the point.

Well if you're persisting with this, at least get it right. There's no reason the player should be putting up 1/12 of their own stake money, so the per-backer ship should be 215/11 = 19.55.

But you're just creating 132 unnecessary (IMO) transactions by doing it that way. Not everyone has funds available in the right place all the time. Not everyone will be around or will remember every month.

So long as (in particular) the guys playing up-front don't mind (and as far as I can see no-one does) the idea is a colossal waste of everyone's time. Your game is the opposite of ez.

Hawk,
When Dank and I discussed this last night, we were just trying to figure out how it would work if someone in month 6 or something didn't quited have the 215 to play? What could we do? I think danks original plan was to make this up so that noone would be out more than ~$20 per month. I see your point that the xfers are a pain in the butt, but don't think that it makes danks point less valid. Just tell us how we'll handle someone needing the help of our group seven or eight months in, to get in the 215 tourney? Just want too make stuff all clear, all up front.

I can't afford to plunk down $215 when my turn comes up. I will send everyone $18 each month but only if reciprocated. If this unacceptable to the stakees, I'll back out.

If we put people later in the cycle who will have no problem finding the $215 for the buy in, that minimizes the concerns.

I think those we have going later in the list will be able to easily find the $215 buyin to play.

Perhaps we weren't quite ready for the run thread.

I would slightly prefer to just each pay our own buy-in, but I understand the case for the transfers. What do we do if one of the crew doesn't make the transfer in timely fashion? Do we assume he is still in or do we just chop that one 10 ways or 9 ways or whatever?

Also, if we have only one or two people who require the monthly transfer option, I'm wiling to front them the $215 and let them send me $18 a month or whatever it is.
