ROI in 45 man turbos SNGs

Postby taz115 » Apr 14 2010

Been playing these quite a bit lately trying to slowly build a roll while taking the odd shot at MTTs here and there.

I was curious as to how good or bad I was doing at these, feels like I was doing pretty well, especially lately.

Do any of you play a lot of these? Anyone have an opinion on what a good ROI is in these? I know STTs might(?) be somewhere around 20% and for MTTs 50-100% is good so do we split the difference for 45ers?

Here are my stats from the past year playing mostly $3, $6 and some $12's, all turbos. (I know limited sample but I don't play often).

Number: 131
Buy-ins: $721.75
Winnings: $952
ITM %: 21% - (16% of field is paid)
ABI: $5.5
ROI: 32%

32% is not bad I suppose, but it seems like it should be higher. Opinions?

you're sample is really small. You will be able to determine your own winrate and bankroll requirements after about 1k games IMO. At best right now I'd say 19-25% would be an accurate assessment.

I know my smaple is too small to accurately project my own ROI. Was more wondering what others thought was an attainable ROI for someone who is a significant winner at this format would be. I think thats what you were trying to estimate with your 20-25% number. Was hoping it was higher... tough to grind out a BR these days if you can't play tons of hands blah.

My guess (and it is only a guess) that your 32% would be really really good over a decent sample. So yah, it's likely to be downhill rather than up from here :(

Boo to that.. I'm an old schooler and 4 tables is what I prefer to play. I can play up to 6 before I lose my mind though but usually 4 table. Think I'll just keep plugging away at the micro 45 mans and take shots at $10 and $20 MTTs with my profits until I hit a deep one.

My wife was playing you last night in a $16 - 18 man SNG while I was railing. You busted off the FT and she ended up winning

I went through a phase of only playing $11 18/27 (occasional 45) player SNG's on stars. My ROI is a little over 70% from 662 games. I generally only played up to 4 at once, with 3 being my most profitable number. I think it's very important to be able to focus, and get a good feel for a table, the shorter it gets. MTT's don't matter so much. I find I can multi-table a lot more because you're nearly always playing at full tables.

Anything over 30% is good.

I used to play tons of these (>1k in total) at the $12 and $27 level, great way to build a roll, and the player base always seems to be healthy.

You really should play more tables though. Much of your play in these will be push/fold, so I don't see any reason why you couldn't get to 8 or 12 with a little practice.
