What do people think of them?
For those not aware of them, they are 10 player SNGs. Half the prize fund goes to the top 5 finishers, the remainder gets paid to the top 5 but on a pro-rata basis according to the number of chips you finish with. So, for example, in a $5 one, you would get $5 back plus $0.16 for every 100 chips you're left with.
I kind of like the idea, as it promotes more aggressive play on the bubble, rather than having everyone try to fold into the money.
However, I do believe that long term, DONs would be more profitable. Why? Because by my calculations, you need to get over 3125 chips to make more than double your money. I believe this is harder to achieve long term than what it sounds. Saying that, if you are an aggressive player, (I'm talking about the sort of player who will either bust early, or have a big stack), then the times you cash, you will probably cash big, thus making up for the shortfalls.
I've only just started playing these, so my theories could be wrong, so I'm keen to hear what others think.
