putting myself in harms way

Postby Skrotnisse » Oct 08 2008

Here´s a hand I didn´t like. I should probably give up to the turn raise or at least on the river since I have a hand closer to the bottom of my range.

Another way to play it (and perhaps much better) is to check/call turn and decide on the river. (check/call or check/fold depending on your range) What do you think?

3/6 Limit Holdem
5 players

Pre-flop: (1.5 SB, 5 players) Hero is BB :th :kd
2 folds, BTN calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, BTN calls

Flop: :3h :9s :5d (2.5 SB, 2 players)
Hero bets, BTN calls

Turn: :9d (2.2 BB, 2 players)
Hero bets, BTN raises, Hero calls

River: :3s (6.2 BB, 2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets, Hero calls

I like it. And with the board pairing, a good K-high is worth showing down.

Im bad at this and I think I need to develop a better strategy of donk checking the turn OOP as a hopefully well balanced play.
