Depends on the opponent, usually it's not that easy of a fold.

I would be very hard pressed to fold here given the way he played the hand.

Where's your preflop raise?
Shut up and deal.

Just to add, you're going to gain lots of bets by raising almost all the time your heads up with a sb who only completes..

Naturally, as Bugs is continually cautioning against, you don't want to get tooo automatic lest people start noticing, but you've got position, sb has indicated weakness....must raise...

I've gotten to the point where I'm raising hands like 7 4 off
Shut up and deal.

Cript, I'm not sure what this has to do with anything...it's utterly irrelevant with respect to how you play this hand...going forward it tells you something about the guy though.

Actually he played it pretty well. He didn't want to raise earlier because he didn't want a fold. On the river he didn't want it checked through. If I was him I may have played this hand the same way. I may also have played this hand that way if I had nothing, although with nothing I would be more likely to c/r the turn and try to steal it there :) By C/r the turn I'd also be more likely to get a fold from something like 55 when the river comes along (if he called the turn bet).

Now steals using this are not something I do all the time, but I do do things like this occasionally, and I don't even mind getting caught. I'll normally only do it when I'm showing down a lot of winners to start with, and if I get caught it just keeps them guessing. I'll also back off from bluffs for a while after getting caught.

But with the 55 I still call here, the way the hand played out, because the opportunity for steals at this point is just too high.

I think he played the hand well myself...I didn't mean to imply, when I say that you learn something about the guy going forward, that he didn't..

I'm just trying to find the value in posting the results of the hand...

A: The guy is not particularly aggressive it seems if he's going to merely complete with A7

B: He seems to be fairly decent , at least insofar as this one hand played out.
Shut up and deal.

That's true, based on this one hand. But I'd need to see a few more situations like this before I came to a definitive conclusion.
