Hypothetical turn donk situations 3 way

Postby mconstab » Oct 13 2008

These hands were similar to the ones I played but my PokerTracker seems to be playing up a bit. Anyhow...

Example 1.

Villain is 57/10/1.4 and posts in the CO
Hero is BTN with A9o

PRE FLOP
1 fold, hijack calls, CO checks, hero raises, 2 folds, hijack calls, CO calls

FLOP (3 players)
Qs 7h Ad
2 checks, hero bets, 2 calls

TURN (3 players)
Ks
hijack checks, CO bets, hero?

This situation has me a bit lost. Do we raise to shut out the hijack/possible raise for value or just play it passively? The problem I see with raising is that if we're 3 bet we will likely have to call to draw to 2 pair outs.

Example 2.

Villain is 65/35/2.5 and is in the CO
Hero is BTN with QsQh

PRE FLOP
1 fold, hijack raises, CO (villain) 3 bets, hero caps, 2 folds, hijack calls, CO calls

FLOP (3 players)
Jd 7d 4s
hijack bets, CO (villain) raises, hero 3 bets, hijack calls, CO calls

TURN (3 players)
Kd
hijack checks, CO (villain) bets, hero?

If one of my Q was a diamond then I'd just call this turn donk. The problem is if I raise and villain 3 bets the turn i fell obligated to call down providing it's now become HU due to his maniacal tendencies. Opinions?

Tough, I don´t know what is best. But I would raise in both.
