Cript playing SH limit!!!

Postby Cript » Jul 29 2009

After a particularly bad night at the turbos, I'm re-dedicating myself to SH limit.

I pledge not to play any tournaments whatsoever.
I pledge to play not less than 1,000 hands a night or 7000 per week of SH at the highest limit at which I have 200 or more BB.
I pledge to update this topic with my results every night.

I'd make that nearer 2000, if I were you, or you could be busto in a week.
Seriously, a 200BB swing is nothing at limit, even FR. I won't play with <1000.

From what I recall, you did pretty decently at SH although 200BB does seem a little low, especially in today's games. Envy anyone who can play 1,000 or more hands a day; don't think I've ever managed more than 500 per day

I'm only playing $1/$2 right now...In my 6 years, I've never had a swing over 100BB down there. I'm starting with 300BB and 200 is my drop down limit.

As long as you are willing to move up and down as the bankroll changes, I see nothing wrong with using a 200bb base but just be prepared to move around a lot.

On a side note: I think you are absolutely nuts doing this

You just need the right incentive. When the UK Stars promo "forced" me to play something over 25k hands of FR in one month I managed almost 3k hands in a day a couple of times - and much like yourself, before that 500 hands was a good day and 1k hands almost unheard of.

Maybe, but it would have to be a very good incentive; find anything more than 2-2 1/2 hours and I lose focus... if I had any to start with

I usually play 1000 in that time 9-tabling FR. Obv. you wouldn't 9-table 6-max (well, I couldn't), but at 110 hph you only need 4 or 5.

I think I might be changing this little quest to NL...need to think on it.

What are bankroll requirements in terms of buyins for NL?

You've never had a 100BB downswing at 6-max? That's at least a 2 per week occurance for me, although I'm playing 5-10k hands a week. And I've run almost 4BB/100 this month...

Generallly speaking, move up when you have 20 buyins for the next level up and drop down when youu hit 17 buyins.

So what did you end up switching to, 6-max limit or NL? and how are you making out?
