And how is this overall, I don't play SH very often.

BB seems like a poor player. Loose passive is my best guess at this point but I've only been at the table a couple of orbits.

I'm trying to think of the worse hands that call me here and can't think of many. There's no logical draw that he could have flopped other than a gutshot broadway and he's beating me with that now. He probably calls me with a small pocket pair here but he'll definitely raise me with an A and since he's passive I can't rule it out as a holding.

If I were to bet can I fold to a raise?

Based on your description of the player, I think you can bet river, planning to fold to a raise.

Preflop is questionable. I'd usually muck this. If the table is very tight, I can see raising it, or if it's very passive and loose, I could see limping.

I think it really depends on how much credit you are going to give BB for being able to think. If he is really going to call down with any pocket pair, a hand like KT or T9, then you probably have a clear value bet folding to a raise, but if he is able to remember that you raised preflop, and stops to look at the board and work out exactly what hands you might have that his T9 beats, then I think checking is ok.

Against most opponents yes. And especially on the turn when a second ace hits. Unless he is extremely tight and passive and tends to call down with AT/AJ type hands against a preflop raiser fearing a bigger ace.

If you're going to play it you have to raise it. I'd usually mucjk this one, but would also raise JTs. However playing this hand for a raise isn't a terrible play, especially if - as you say - the table is playing tight.
