PT3 or HEM?

Postby Bullajami » Jan 06 2010

Kick-starting my online playing. Which is better, PT3 or HEM? I'll play almost exclusively cash games. Tournaments are mostly a diversion for me.

There are no current ITH offers I qualify for to get PT3 for free, so its not a concern.
Peace,
Bull

HEM hands down. I like everything about it and haven't had a problem since I got it 8 months ago. One of the things I like the most is that you can change your HUD info positions on-screen at the table[s] you are playing. I don't know if PT3 does that, but it was a major PITA in PT2.

Hey! And what's up with this new-found access to the internet in the bright hot place?

Thanks, but I really need the opinion of someone more like me.

Oh, wait, nevermind. :D

I don't know, but I am certainly enjoying it.

PT3 lets you do that now.

Been using PT3 for a year now and quite like it, although tempted to try out the competition. Any other obvious benefits for HEM? Unlike Bull, I'd be mainly interested in the tournament side of things.

Cheers

I downloaded PT3 a few days ago when I saw there was a 60-day free trial. (HEM free trail was 15 days.)

No problems with installation or importing hand histories, even from Cake rooms. (With Cake, you only get your personal hand histories, you can't data mine the competition - at least not with just PT3, perhaps there's an add-on someplace?)

So far it does everything I want, but there are some players who have more sophisticated needs than I do. They may prefer HEM - which I may still give a whirl at some point.
Peace,
Bull

Honestly, I think for the above average player, either of them are great. I personally use HEM due to a lot of glitches that were out with PT3 initially which I am sure have been taken care of. I was also able to get a discounted price through Cardrunners. I like the hud a lot and the filtering options, but I believe that either would give me more than I really need.
