Post-Session Analysis (Using PokerStove, Flopzilla, etc)

Postby BigIslandSteve » Dec 21 2009

Aloha, everyone,
<br />

<br />
Haven't played a hand since Sunday, I think--partly because I've been doing contract work all week and getting home late, but also because I've been doing a lot of reading regarding post-play analysis, and I'm a bit overwhelmed. I can tell that many of the concepts--variable effect, weighted ranges, and continuation ranges, for example--are going to take some re-reading and practice before I can put them to real use. But I'm guessing the effort will be worth it long term.
<br />

<br />
Right now, I have PT3 to provide stats, and PokerStove and Flopzilla to guage opponents' ranges and try to figure out profitable plays. I'm also stuck in 10NL currently, hoping to move up as soon as possible. Any advice from people who are already using these tools on how to use them best? For example:
<br />

<br />
1) What are the hands most worth reviewing post-session?
<br />
2) Is it wise to save certain stat-ranges?
<br />
3) How long did it take before you had a noticable improvement in your bottom line?
<br />
4) Once you've gotten to the point where you're making pretty accurate reads on player ranges in-game, what stats do you find most useful to have in your HUD, to help you make decisions on the fly?
<br />
5) Will I find this information more useful as I move up in stakes?
<br />

<br />
Thanks in advance for your help,
<br />

<br />
Steve
