6. PokerRoom Scandal (RESOLVED BY POKERROOM)

Postby Tanya Peck » Dec 22 2006

Please see my post on page 4 regarding the fact that PokerRoom has apparently rectified the situation at this time--Ciaran

This is a disgrace and if anyone still plays on this site, I would recommend an email to their support department and a BOYCOTT until resolved.

Literally STOLE money from their players accounts. Shameful.

When you go to bed with a PR hooker,
2 days later she comes back and takes $20 more out of your wallet, and then you realize you have a case of the crabs

Just finished reading the thread....

Doesn't look like PR has said much in the way of a response.

Taking money out of a players account is pretty disturbing. I'm actually glad I can't play there and I'd recommend an ITH boycott.

Simply amazing how dense people can be sometimes. The 15K (or whatever the real-dollar amount of PR's mistake is) is peanuts compared to what this will really cost them.

In their TOS, it clearly states that prizes will be awarded based on their payout screen.

People then choose to particpate and enter into an agreement with the site for said prizes when they click on "Enter."

The affected players have produced the payout screen AND the TOS. Case closed.

The fact that a PR employee made a "mistake" is of no concern to the players. It is PR's problem. It's part of the price of doing business. Employees make mistakes all the time in business and the company has to eat that cost.

This won't happen ... but if I ran a competing site, I would very publicly step up and offer all players involved their deserved winnings in an account on my site.

I'm sure in the world of advertising, this would be a pretty good deal. Pay 15K to get REAL exposure to your REAL customers instead of a random commercial that might hit a small portion of your intended audience.

Of course, other sites might not consider PR to be much of a competitor.

Disgraceful.

Pokerroom posted a response saying they can't afford any more payouts like this until they can understand how certain players can have a reciprocal guarantee that they cash in 50%+ of their tourneys.

I haven't played there in months anyway, but now I won't be going back.

That's shambolic.
This deck of cards is a little frayed around the edges. Then again, so am I, and I've got fewer suits.

This kind of post is just going to cause you trouble. I'd appreciate it if both of you could stop trying to aggravate the other.

Haven't we been boycoting these guys since they made their ludacris rake increase last year ?

Must have missed it when we called that one off
