There has been a lot of discussion on this. WPEX took a conscious decision to omit specific player names from hand histories. This is because massively multi-tabling HUD-bots are not their target audience (or something like that). Go and have a look on the zoo if you want to see some real anger on this. :)

AFAIK there isn't a workaround yet.

hawk, is the zoo the equation forum? I'm glad someone else is as miffed as I was. I've found a way to get stats for player specific but it's definitely a pain. Only worth it for the players I have a lot of hands on. Also, if PT showed a manually added player name as zero hands, that would go a long way toward helping. I don't know what good it is to add a player name and not have it show in the list. Do you know what the purpose of that is?

But, I've finally decided to go back to wpex. After reading what some of the money-makers here have said about it, I've decided to challenge my skills and return. It won't be my main site but it's better than playing at places with no bonuses to earn.

The zoo is the "Internet Gambling" forum on 2+2.

Am I alone in thinking this is excellent news that WPEX are not making it so easy for all the tooled up players? It's almost enough to make me start playing there again.

You may well be right there but I would rather they bring em all on - tooled up or not - the more the merrier. Ten hours a day players like myself could earn a fortune there. Sadly, there are not enough games at this moment in time. According to their news that comes with your rakeback notification, top rakeback for the week to one guy was $4,000+

I had 60BB rakeback for a some sporadic play there and if P, PP or PS ever follow suit, then low limit play becomes more than just winnable.

There is a piece of software out there now called Namegrabber that does exactly what is says but apparently it is a bit of a potch to setup.

On a personal positive note, my short handed game has improved considerably since playing there.

Just wish more people would jump on the free rakeback option (shameless plug) so I could earn more.

Good Luck

*signed* I am glad thet the whiny 2+2 autopilot multi-table ABC tags stay away. Plus, my note taking and player observation has improved significantly since I started playing there, which is a crucial skill anyway if I ever want to climb up to the mid limit games.

Played a few hands there today at the lower limits.

If WPEX had to depend on Poker for a living they would be starving by now. As I type, there are only 692 players online and one low limit game to enter. Like I posted earlier - I just wish everyone would play there. Their tools dont worry me - I'm quicker than them.

Fish, BOTS, ABC players, etc - all grist to my low limit grind.

I've heard it's a bit cacky, which surprises me. I would have thought it would be quite easy to write well. Don't you have to pay for it, or am I confusing it with something else?

I havent really looked further into Namegrabber because I did not consider it worth the bother for the few games I play on the site.

I may well review this as I have just had a good hour feeding on real fish there + the rakeback.

The fish seem more aggresive - whether its because they get the rakeback I have no idea. But they are like salmon leaping into your net.

i have a couple of questions about the site. If i sign up straight through the site do they operate the rakeback or do i need an affiliate? Secondly has anyone played the shorthanded sngs, 5 man games, any good and how long they take to fill?

The rakeback is automatic. You don't have to do anything. It will show up in your account on Monday every week and you will receive an email stating your rakeback for the week, your total accumulated rakeback, and the largest rakeback awarded for that week.
You can check your rakeback balance duing the week in the cashier. It won't update until you leave the table and sometimes takes a few minutes.
The rackback was reduced to 75% a couple of months ago but they added 3 $5000 added VIP tournaments every week. Tues, Thurs, Fri at 8:30 pm est for a $10 entry. Average about 140 players in those. Prize pool $6400 pays 18 places with $1900 for 1st and about $75 for 18th.
Qualify for VIP by accumulating $75 rakeback the previous week.

Another nice promo is the Aces Never Lose. Wednesday thru Sat 1pm to 1 am. If you lose with pocket aces they will credit your account automatically with $25 for 1/2, 2/4, and 3/6 limit. $50 for 5/10 and above. Not sure on NLHE. Must go to showdown. Credit is not instantaneous but usually within short order. You also get an email confirmation with the hand number.

Hand history records are now available on half of the tables.

My rakeback for this year is over $1500 and I did not play regularly during the summer. It is fairly easy to make the VIP minimum at 3/6. The problem is not enough traffic. I don't understand why.

The reason why I never went back to WPEX, was that the games were incredibly tough at $3/$6. They were easily by far the toughest games on the net at the time I played there. You were usually facing 4 TAGs on every table and I didn't feel like I could beat the games there. So playing on WPEX means you will only win due to rakeback because after rake almost all players were losers there. Even a world-class player can't beat the rake at $3/$6 facing only (semi)competent TAGs. After they reduced the rakeback to 75% I saw no reason to ever com back, because there are other sites who offer 75% rakeback (when you include bonuses) with far easier games.

How are the games now? Still full of sharks tearing the random fish apart that from time to time finds its way there? Maybe I will redposit and go back to check them out next month but I'm not sure I want to play there again.

That is pretty much still the case. You will find the same 3/6 people on 1/2 or 2/4 or even 5/10 if that's the only game going. My only profit has been from rakeback. I am a slight loser to break even on the tables.
I try to talk the site up because I do like playing there and would like to see increased traffic.
One thing that really ticks me off is when you do get a (live one) at a table some a**hole will start calling him/her an idiot or moron and berating them so much that you may never see them again. Why in the world do they do that? :x

I still play frequently as WSEX. Traffic is extremely light . Usually only 1 or 2 tables of $25 NL. Never any limit tables except maybe a micro. All the juicy gaurantee tourneys are gone for lack of participation.

Never withdrew before but I asked for a withdrawal in mid march and still haven't received it.

I did get a very nice letter of apology tonight from the managing director
Saying their service over the past 18 months has not lived up to the standards they had set and that my withdrawal would be processed this coming week.

He offered me 30% bonus if I wanted to cancel any portion of the withdrawal and place it in the sports book with a 10x rollover.

I declined the offer but I will continue to play poker there.
