4. PokerRoom Policy Changes

Postby RiverCascade » Aug 25 2006

I don't know if these are brand new changes or old news, but I only learned of them today. I already intensely dislike this site due to the worthless customer support. These changes do nothing to help the situation. (I continue to play here regularly only because of the bonus offers.)

Anyone who knows anything further about these 2 items, please reply.

1. Player points expire after 6 months. (I have 18k+, and they're going to vanish.) I really love the way they notify steady customers-- not.

2. Any money won in freerolls is no longer technically free. You cannot claim it until you earn 4 points per dollar.

Alls I have to say is screw poker room. That site has gone seriously down the crapper. I read your helpful post and decided to go spend my points to get a few $20 SNG tickets. When I go to purchase my SNG tickets I get this message:

You need to be a Green Room member to get access to this service!
Just make a deposit and collect 1 player point and you instantly become a member of Green Room. To remain a member you only need to collect 1 Player Point a month.Join us now!

What a joke. Not only are they now getting rid of my points, but I can't even spend them without depositing. Screw poker room.

The only good thing I can say about the skin is the ease of earning and collecting a bonus. If you have any problems, or need assistance, you can foreget it.

Sorry about your problem, Dire. One thing is they currently have a pretty good bonus available, if you're interested. Also, you can sell your points to buy a bonus. You may be able to do that without being a green room member, I don't know. For 10k points, you can purchase a $150 bonus that clears at 6 or 7x. Not too bad, but a lot of points down the tube. Better than losing them altogether though, imo.

I just discovered something even more lovely. These SNGs tickets SUCK. The $20 have a $2.50 rake to start with, but it gets even better. Of the $200 'prize pool', $72 of it given out in satellite sub-qualifier tickets which have a true value of perhaps a few cents. I was not interested in buying the bonuses since I've long since 'boycotted' Poker Room ring games for my own reasons. Seeing this rip off makes me even happier about my decision.

Poker Room has become simply repulsive.
