Absolute Poker is known for their frequent reload bonuses, often totalling 9-10 a month. Their current signup bonus for January 2006 is 100% Match up to $300.

Absolute ROCKS.

I have been using this site almost exclusively now. I used to play at Poker Stars but it always seems way too slow. Absolute is fast but does not have as many tables but I have never had that be a problem.

Absolute Poker

Postby SRH » Mar 11 2004

I deposited and played there until I reached my bonus numbers and cashed out. The tables are very soft but there are problems getting a game sometimes. There is little or no action at anything other than Hold 'em and even those tables can be problematic at times.

I think the site itself is OK. Never had a problem connecting or with disconnects and customer service was great. I should also point out that I got my cashout in less than 12 hours.

Other than the lack of players, this is a fine site and I will go back there if the traffic picks up. I hope these guys make it.

It's a pretty good site, the lower limit games seem to be pretty soft.

My biggest gripe with this site is that you have to keep your money there for 30 days or you lose your bonus. It doesn't matter how many raked hands you have played.

Other than that, I would recommed the site.

I am playing at 1/2 and the players a pretty bad, but I'm having trouble some times finding a game. There are usually only 2 tables with people at that limit.

The software is very slow for me. I don't know why and that doesn't seem to be a problem for others. Any ideas anyone?

Just an update post for my result at this site
I cashed out at around $1150, initial investment was $600
Including $90 bonus dollar in the process ($120 still pending )
IMO it is taking too long for all the bonus to be released and so I just left before completing the bonus hunting.

I deposited here for the nice 35% bonus so I'm now working it off. I don't plan on playing at the site again after I work off the bonus.

PROS:

Nice 35% deposit bonus
Excessively passive games at the .25/.50 level where I've been playing. Hardly anything gets raised preflop.
You can select an icon (like stars)
Reasonable Rake

CONS:

Not that many tables in each limit for full ring games. 3 to 4 at peak times 1 or 2 during non peak.
Software feels sort of clunky but it does get the job done.
Even after you work off your bonus, you can't withdrawl it it for 30 days.

Overall, I would rate this site a 6.
...You can measure distance by time. "How far away is it?" "Oh about 20 minutes." But it doesn't work the other way. "When do you get off work?" "Around 3 miles."

AP changed their withdrawal policy when they changed their bonus policy to 10 raked hands per $ of bonus. You can now deposit for a bonus, let the money sit for 48 hours, cash out your deposit, and the pending bonus will remain. You have to meet the requirements for the bonus within 60 days of the deposit or the bonus is forfeited.

I rated this site a 7 just for the 35% deposit bonus that I am working off at the moment. Otherwise, I would pass on this site.

I'm playing .25/.50 and .50/1. There MIGHT be 1 full ring game going whenever I have been playing (usually afternoon or late night). Mostly just 6-max tables going, so I have been forced to sit and learn this style of play before even mastering full ring gameplay.

The software is bad. It's cluttered, ugly, and very laggy.

I still cannot get my personal icon to work, but others don't seem to have a problem.

They players are bad, just like everywhere.

I will be cashing out after I clear the bonus mainly due to the laggy software and slim table selection.

Great Site

Postby deeznutzaa » Oct 08 2004

This is my favorite site on the web. The traffic can be kind of slow sometimes so you have to have other options available but when good games are available I recommend playing there.

The best thing about the site is that everyone puts their own pictures up. For some reason it is much easier to keep each player straight when I can identify them with a unique picture.

The customer service is fantastic - responses are almost instantaneous. My cashout requests so far have been processed instantly. Even better than that they often offer reload bonuses and you don't have to play that many hands to receive them.

Hopefully their traffic will pick up and it will be the best site available.

I got the 35% bonus ($175 on $500 deposit)- cleared the requirements in 8 days, and cashed out the $675. I played mostly $2/4 full ring, but toward the end I really took a liking to the NL $0.25 tables. That's why I left my poker winnings in, and just cashed out the initial deposit and bonus.

The screen layout is an eyesore. Too many patterns and colors and clutter - really unattractive to stare at for hours. I disabled everybody's personalized pics/icons just to clear up some of the screen bizzle.

There are only 9 seats at a ring table, vice 10. I prefer 10.

I could not always find games at the limits I wanted to play. Site traffic is a bit on the low side.

I did not have any difficulty with the interface being buggy, slow or crashing - I have seen others report this, but I did not experience it.

Cashout was quick. I use firepay. requested payout Wednesday, got it Thursday.

Competition is soft. It also seems that people jump on and off tables more quickly than the other 4 sites I have played at. This is an advantage to me, as I tend to be a bit rockish - new people at the table don't know that when I check-raise you on the turn, u r F****d, and will call and even re-raise. This made it easy to be profitable on 2 tables at once, just by playing tight, and somewhat passive.

I played one tourney there, but would not recommend it. 2 hours of painfully slow action. Plus, I busted out on the bubble, which really annoys me. Not APs fault, but the 2 hour time commitment to just miss the money was.

I continue to play at AP. Typically I will be in a NL $0.25 room there as I am registering, waiting and playing the initial rounds of a tournament on a different site. Once the tourney table gets smaller, I punch out at AP and concentrate on the tourney.
Peace,
Bull
