Sorry if this sounds like a silly question. I'm new to online betting and have registered with William Hill casino 2 days ago. I have won a large sum of money however I can't withdraw any of it. When I try to withdraw money I get a message stating:

To protect ourselves and legitimate card and bank account holders from online fraud we suspend the withdrawal facility on new accounts for up to 3 working days. This gives us the opportunity to ensure that the card and bank accounts are being used only by the registered account holder.

I'm just wondering if this is normal and is it safe to fax over my bank/debit card details as I.D? It also says that I can withdraw funds at any William hill betting shop.

I'm going to send this to one of our England'r's, for reply, yazoo. Not a silly question, at all. I just don't play there anymore so can't be of any help. How'd you win the money (what type of game)? Congrats, btw.

Did they ask for this information? I wouldn't send anything not being demanded. Also, have no clue what a Wm. Hill betting shop is. There's a lot better sites to play at than this one, but sounds like it did all right by you. I'll try to get you a more helpful reply a.s.a.p.

You shouldn't need to fax anything to Will Hill. I've certainly never done that, and I can deposit and withdraw to and from my debit card at will.

It sounds like they've just put in some sort of standard policy (would have thought they'd be more concerned about deposit methods than withdrawal methods, but there you go.

Try again after the three days perhaps and let us know how it goes.

I'm in the U.K right now and there are William Hill branches where you can place bets etc. But I made my deposits via debit card so any withdrawals should be via debit card also.

I have been playing European roulette. They haven't asked for any forms of I.D yet. I would feel rather uncomfortable providing my debit card details.

I guess I will just have to wait until Monday to try and withdraw again.

Definitely wouldn't send any personal info that's not been demanded in order to process your withdrawal. Sounds like this situation arose becz of your account being new, and wanting to withdraw immediately after a win. Hope things go smoothly from this point on.

Oh, this was the win? When I first read your post, I thought you were talking about playing roulette in addition to hold'em, and I was going to give you a motherly spank. I do not understand anyone playing a game where the house has an edge, let along the biggest edge of any gambling game. Take your money and run... then, learn hold'em.

How about stopping by the New Member Forum and making an intro post?

I decided to phone the 24/7 customer service. I got through to a bloke within seconds and he told that there was no need for my card details, I could withdraw my winnings by midnight.

True to his word, I was able to withdraw the cash. Good experience with William Hill's online casino so far (apart from losing of course! ).

nice to finally see a poker site reducing its rake for a change, anyway just got this email from will hill regarding shorthanded rake -

William Hilll Poker will take 5% from every pot, up to a maximum of :

Heads-Up tables - 2 units of currency
25/50 NL tables - 5 units of currency
All other tables with 2 players - 1 unit of currency
All other tables with 3-4 players - 2 units of currency
All other tables with 5-10 players - 3 units of currency
We also operate a No Flop - No Drop policy; we do not take any rake from hands that do not reach the flop.

Well it's certainly true that Crypto is like that at 1/2. I'm really struggling to motivate myself to do the WIll Hill monthly this month. The tables are super-tight (I've visited on many occasions lately and very rarely see a $10 APS).

But I seem to get caught out just about always when trying to adapt and steal the blinds. As for sitting there nut-peddling like all the others - frankly life's too short and I have other bonuses to keep my attention. I MIGHT finish this month but leave it then until I reach a new limit (revisiting at 2/4 or above is a good idea).

I also hear that the £ tables are much juicier than the $ tables. They would have to be! Since you have to play at least £1/£2 for bonuses, you would consider playing $2/4 instead (monetarily the limits are similar, and the rake I guess is lower at $2/4 than at £1/2).

The $2-4 FR where still a little tighter than i like but playable with some looking around. Mid 30s on players to flop and around british prime time it isnt hard to find even 40%+ at some of the FR tables. The 2-4SH and 2-4GPB FR tables is really where the play just seemed to degrade into an any 2 will do style that is so profitable to play against.

when i started playing on this site those games where above what i considered to be my level and well above the amount of my bankroll i had deposited but the poor play moe than makes up for it and this is a great site for someone thinking about moving up to give it a try imho. You get to aclimate yourslef to the 2-4 or 3-6 swings with the quality of play you would find at the worst .5/1 tables and add in a good bonus on top of that.

My two cents on WH, and InterPoker for that matter...

I see more flushes happen at these sites than any other. Almost every board has three cards of the same suit, and you can almost guarantee that someone would have two hole cards of the same suit. Obviously many times they'll be folded but so often I see good hands busted by flushes.

This isn't just a bad beat moan, as I see it happen to other people just as much as myself, and have had it work in my favour when I've called with suited hole cards I normally wouldn't dream of calling with, I just wondered if anyone else had noticed this or if I am just being a bit cynical...

It is well known that all online poker rooms are not honest, they
are created to steal players' money. It is enogh to look for example to
the discussion in the answerbag.


And among worst poker rooms in this respect is the William Hill poker.
They use extensively the system of false "players", figures which
you can see at tables which do not correspond to real players, but are
just software tricks. It happens too ofthen at their tables that one of
real players gets some really good hand, put big bets but looses against
an even better hand of this false softwere thrick.

I storngly recommned to anyone not to give your money to William Hill.
It is a very corrupted room.
