Another victim of FPS, Fancy Play Syndrome-- need the correct opp to make moves/try to outplay them-- especially at lower levels where they almost all play at the zeroth or 1st level of thinking you usually do end up spewing chips-- even against the correct opp you have to pick your spots--not try to do it too often. -- Bugsbunny

Can anyone tell me why party doesn't use a "players seeing the flop %" stat? It would seem fairly easy to put in, and only help people, and attract more customers?
How do people approach party without this stat. I was trying to find games that had mid/high average pots, and also with high hands per hour.
e.g. playing $0.50/%1 fixed limit I was looking for average pots of say $6 with 75 hands played per hour.
I think that these pots therefore display many loose passive players, many seeing the flop (hence high average pot), but then many people folding with only a few going to the river (hence high hands per hour).
What do people think of this theory? What other ways are there to find loose games, at sites that don't show "players seeing the flop %" statistic?

This thread turned into more of a poker strategy discussion rather than Empire-specific. I've moved it to http://www.internettexasholdem.com/phpbb2/table-choice-when-no-asf-in-lobby-vt39566.html. Thanks for your understanding, so we can keep this thread about Empire.

I cannot consistantly win at this site. I play .50/1.00 and1/2 on both party and paradise. It seems like I have to constantly take my winnings from Paradise to refuel my bankroll at Party... I've been playing at both for about a year now.

I don't like that they don't show the %players at the flop, but I do like the software. Very fast and precise, doesn't lag like paradise does.

BTW, how is the level of play for low buyin tournaments and SNGs here?

I haven't played Party for umm... a long time. At least since Christmas. And not regularly since I swore off their bonuses back in mid 2005.

But I succumbed to temptation and took their recent cashout-restricted bonus. And I've got to ask, is it my imagination, or is the full table .50/1 limit much tougher than it used to be say a year ago? When I started playing in 2004 .50/1 at Party was pretty much legendary for fishiness.

But what do I find now? Relatively few tables have an average pot size > $5. Those that do have several people waiting. As I write the highest is $8 (three tables, with a some at $7 . I know I'm not imagining sitting at ones with $10 or $12 back in the mists of time.

And once at the table.... of course there are fish, but they seem to be outnumbered by aggressive players who, while probably looser than any of use would recommend, have at least some concept of postflop play.

Maybe it's just the bonus. (Though of course $1/$2 used to be the rock-y bonus clearing ground.) Or is it my imagination?

I've been playing on Party Poker for about 6 months. I maily play 0.5/1 limit games there. I consider myself a faily good player (don't we all). I am also using Poker Tracker to keep track of my performance. However, I can't seem to make any money, if I win today, then I lose tomorrow, then I win again, then tomorrow I lose again. Basically, I walk around in circles. I lose most of my winnings to flushes, they are so common at Party and just come out of nowhere. Maybe has something to do to with the fact that people will play any suited cards regardless of rank; someone is bound to get lucky. Honestly, I don't know what my problem is, maybe its just cash games in general. I also play a lot of tournaments on UB, and doing quite well actually. I have more than trippled my UB account thu tournament play since my initial deposit. Ofcourse I've had my share of really bad losing streaks, but I still managed to come out on top by sticking with my strategy. But with Party Poker cash games I just can't make it work.
Anyway, I would really like to hear from someone who actually managed to make money on Party at 0.5/1 games over a long term period. And I would really appeciate if you could share you strategy. I would also like to hear from other people with a similar problem.
Thank you

PP cheque bounced!

Postby Zabeat » Jul 09 2007

Joined PP for a couple of days to see what it was like and didn't like the site so withdrew my money.
Cheque arrived promptly -then bounced a week or so later!
This is true- I'm no newbie-played online for 2yrs at PRoom , my OPR ranking is about 98- at least PRooms cheques don't bounce.

Not a big amount but PP won't be getting any more from me.

Anyone playing at PartyPoker.com?

Postby janeg » Apr 23 2009

Just got a sign-up offer, 100% match up to $500US, 8x, 120 days. I did have an account there but haven't played it for a year or more and the site didn't recognize me so was able to create a new account. Bonus looks enticing but there don't seem to be many active tables at $1/$2 6-max.

Is this the same as the old Party? What's the play like? When does it get busy...does it get busy?
