I read a review of Bodog the other day and the screenshots they had for the article were completely different than what I saw while playing. I can't explain why that is. The graphics in the article looked like a regular table I've seen at may poker sites. What I saw looked like computer graphics from ten years ago. Square blockish icons and the fonts had jaggy edges.

I'm going to try and figure out why.

Do any mid limit omaha8 games 5/10 to 20/40 frequently run at Bodog?

A positive Bodog report

Postby CptWin47 » Dec 08 2006

I like Bodog.
I like seeing your cards "shaded" after you fold.
I have won some money in both multi-table tournaments and single table tournaments.

The "Beginner" tournament... means you break even if you finish FIFTH, and win money with Fourth or better... It's pretty easy to consistently add to your account.

I have had zero problems with the interface.

And I like that when you deposit... you get 10% right Then!
not having to worry about how many hands to play in a month.

Overall, no problems, good play, and beginner tournaments with more payouts..... what's not to like?
Any game where you go "ALL IN"
then your stack doubles in size
YOU KNOW
It's going to be very popular.

I like the look of the software. I like the loose games and the fast cash-outs. I like the nice tournaments.

I don't like, that the software crashes about twice per hour, that I haven't gotten a single response to one of my e-mails. Also I don't like that there are so few limit tables. To me it seems that Bodog is better if you play no limit.

I don't think I'll play again there very soon.

Just wondering, my Girlfriend is keen in playing on Bodog, but we're living together and sharing the same internet connection, on the same computer. I was wondering if it's possible to have 2 accounts with the same IP address/household.

Don't misunderstand my question, we're not colluding or what so ever. If my question is out of line, do let me know.

it will let you play at the same site at the same time, however, if you try and sit at a table that your girlfriend is on, it will come up with a message that says (IP Conflict) or something of the sort. So yes both can play, but not on the same table. Me and my college roomate used to play on the same line and it worked fine.

Cool, thanks for the reply, I emailed them already. They replied that they will make allowance for that. In the event they need any proof of identification, I just have to provide it. Simple as that.

I can't believe I haven't replied to this thread before.

I've been playing at Bodog for over a year and I've always found it to be really good.

The software is excellent - very fast and I've only noticed one bug. It was something to do with new players sitting at a table. Anyway, it was resolved very quickly with a software update and hasn't occurred since.

Cashouts have been fine. Never had any problems.

The limit traffic is low but there's usually a game or two going at each level nearly all the time. The play is pretty bad and players/flop i quite often above 35% for FR games and over 60% for SH games. Bizarrely, they offer 0.25/0.50 and 1/2 6-handed games but not 0.5/1 6-handed!

There is now a 3rd party application that can read Bodog hand histories into PT. I haven't purchased it yet - still undecided. I've heard good and bad things about it - far more good than bad though.

I really wish Bodog would simply write the HH's to the hard disk itself. I'm using Bodog's new client.

I also find odd that I can't unregister once I register to a SNG.

NO-LIMIT CASH GAMES

I started playin on Bodog about 3 weeks ago and might I say, the play here is extremely loose! At least at the lower limits. I play at the .05/.10 no-limit level, and witnessing between 45-55% players seeing the flop at a full 9 handed game is normal. 5 or 6 handed, I could usually find some tables where the percentage is somewhere between 60-80%.

Just to give you an idea, I've played just under 10,000 hands and I'm averaging about 10 BB per 100 hands.

LIMIT AND POT LIMIT

From my brief experience at this site, limit and pot limit games are scarce. This seems to be mostly a no-limit site.

SIT-N-GO's and MTT's

Sit-n-go's at all levels seem to take a while to fill up. MTT's don't seem to attract a great number of players either. But I'm comparing this to Full Tilt where sit-n-go's can fill up in a matter of seconds and MTT's are in the high hundreds.

INTERFACE

At first it took some getting used to, but now I enjoy the look and feel of BoDog greatly.

There is no player search:(.
