Playing after winnings?

Postby Hypno87 » Feb 08 2011

Hi all,

i got a question, i read many books about poker, also the book "Poker Mindset" of Ian Taylor and Matthew Hilger.

There they discribe the "emotional component" of poker and there reaction in short-swinged time.

I started playing short stacked because i done so many mistakes in poker that i have to focus on my game and to make better my disciplin.

You all know short-stack-strategie, if you have a hand you will play it to all in.

I noticed that after winning a hand i got many good playable hands...the reason is clear, you feel strong and better than before the hand. Is it long-termed profitable to play those after-winning-hands short-timed? In my case i start flopping really often, the players call because i won the hand and make the next "mistake-able"-movement because they call and the motiv is another one than this before.

So a new situation is given after winning a hand. To be honest i'm also one who does the call if somebody else starts playing loose after winning a pot and even didn't notice that i had "bad" thinkings with doing this call :)

You have to try and play every hand the same (the best you possibly can) irrespective of anything that's happened before. That's really all there is to say.

It sounds simple but of course it isn't, which is why people like Ian write books on it :D

Welcome to the forum and good luck.
