Hi Everybody,

My show is called “Poker Psychology with Dr. Al Schoonmaker,” and it can be heard at holdemradio-dot-com every Wednesday at 8:30 to 9:30 PM, Las Vegas (Pacific) Time.

All shows are archived, and you can download most of them to your PC or iPod a few days after the broadcast. Click on “Podcasts” and “Poker Psychology.” There are three recorded segments for each show.

Unfortunately, someone hacked into our server, and many shows are not currently available. We hope that they will be available soon.

This show is a bit unusual.
• It’s not entertainment. I won’t ask many of the typical People magazine sorts of questions, such as, “What were your biggest thrills as a player?”
• It’s education. Most guests are writers and thinkers, not “celebrities.” Instead of typical interviews, we have intelligent conversations about poker psychology and strategy, legal issues, turning pro, bankroll management, and similar topics.
• We prepare very carefully. I read a guest’s published works, and we agree on the topics to be discussed.

Some of poker’s best thinkers and writers have appeared or will soon do so: Mason Malmuth, David Sklansky, Barry Tanenbaum, Prof. Arthur Reber, Matt Lessinger, Tom McEvoy, Bryan Devonshire, Tony Guerrera, Roy Cooke, Mathew Hilger, Ian Taylor, Tim Peters, Nick Christensen, Howard Schwartz, Dr. Jim McKenna, Tommy Angelo, Linda Johnson, Jan Fisher, Neil Myers, Maryann Morrison, Nick (“Stoxtrader”) Grudzien, Al Spath, Nolan Dalla, Jim Brier, Colin Moshman, Nick Gullo, Matt Flynn, Sunny Mehta, Sam O’Connor, Terry Borer, Lawrence Mak, Mike Caro, David Apostolico, Russell Fox, and Scott Harker.

I hope you enjoy the shows and learn from them.

Regards,

Al
