am I a secret bad person

Postby PauliF » Jun 13 2008

in real life I never lie, I never cheat, I never bully people and I certainly never break a promise

kicking some one eon when they are down would not even be a consideration

why then do I love doing all these things when I play poker?

secretly am I an arsehole?

Quote looks pretty tame to me, I won't share some of my chat transcripts by way of comparison.

We each have different aspects of our lives and in each certain things are acceptable and normal for that particular dimension.

In my work life and home life, I rarely lie or do anything underhanded. I'm normally pretty passive and laid back.

Put me in a competitive situation and its night and day. And its usually completely appropriate.

I think once you think about it in context any existential questions really go out the window.

I need more evidence in order to decide.

Let's say you meet a mild-mannered 376 pound Samoan. Do you:

A) Greet him in a warm and friendly fashion?
B) Secretly wish he would trip and fall?
C) Insist on getting into a fight with him and his hypothetical friend whom you have never actually seen, but you suspect carries a gun?

If you answered "C", I'd suggest you lock your shoes and wallet in a safe.
