eChecks at poker stars

Postby jfletcher » Aug 21 2007

I just got a popup today that said I'm eligible to use eChecks to deposit straight from my bank account to PS.

Anyone know the skinny on this?

I thought this was one of the deposit methods that stopped working for Americans.

Yeah what is up with that??? UIEGA regulations are supposed to make it so banks STOP doing transactions to poker sites......AND now you can make Echeck deposits directly from your bank to Pokerstars?

No more trips to the shady currency exchange to deposit!

 thats the exact reason for me posting on this site i have never played poker on any sites but i have lost alot of money due to this i had a individual open a account in my name and played on my funds for quite some time til i finally realized and caught on the three sites say they are sorry and that is my problem since my imformation was available but it was a seventeen yr old youth and now i am having to go through all the legal issues to get my funds returned but after looking into this matter and what i am learning it seems to me that they should do better credit checks and not alow anyone to do this type of transaction especially new individuals but it seems anyone that has tour checking imformation or anyone u wrote a check to can open an account in your name and play with your money for some time til it is picked up and then wait til u ask for your funds to be returnrd good luck

Given your lack of capitalization and punctuation, I'm not surprised you have a problem protecting your information. You shouldn't have to go through much at all to get your money back. There are laws that force banks to eat the loss in cases like this. I had my debit card (link to checking) ripped off and it took me a day to get all the money back. If someone has access to your data, I think online poker would be the least of your worries.
