Query

Postby DavidZane » Jun 13 2011

Hi all,
This is my first post on this forum and my question is related to the series of Books Winning Poker tournaments one hand a time Vol 1-2-3.

Is one book independent from the other or do they continue... I can't seem to find the first one and was thinking of buying the second one without reading the first one.

See i Live on the island of Malta and the only plausible way to get books not found on the island would be a well reknown website as they don't charge for shipping costs but they do not have Vol 1.

Please advise...should I wait till they stock it (i sent em an email and they have no idea about when it will be re stocked)...or i can buy the other two.. I dont want to read something that tells me "as mentioned on Volume 1" sort of thing..

Thanks in advance

Patience my young Jedi.

The books are written as a trilogy and are best read that way in my opinion, but I must admit that I don't have volume two yet so I don't know if you will run into what you are worried about.

You can get the two volumes currently released by way of this site (the publisher's site), but I have no idea as to the shipping costs.

There are concepts which carry over from one book to the next, but they are essentially independent. You could read Vol 2 first, in my opinion.

I agree. I think Vol 2 is actually more helpful to a tournament player than Vol 1. But they are both very good and I would read them both. Vol 3 isn't out yet.

Hey guys thanks for your feedbacks... However I just realized that I'm Blonde.. I had the book in the basket already... What I can't find on that website is the 2006 book Texas Hold'em Odds and probabilities .... i've read already books about the subject. I've contacted the people behind the web site i buy from and they've replied they've got no news from the publisher.. but as I said I've read books on that subject and can't really see different books having different numbers and opinion...That is the mathematical side of Poker...However I wouldn't mind reading further into it to see what types of fast ways to calculate them mentally..

Reading the Poker Mindset atm and really finding it helpfull...My Results have improved straight away...But it's probably only short term luck

Impatiently waiting for the Thread opening title.. :D

You are in luck as this is the website of the publisher of that book, too. Shoot them an email.

Wohooooo The Book just arrived and I've placed the order for the second one. With The Poker Mindset that I'm currently reading (few pages missing) and Two of the Trilogy (Waiting for the third) I think I'm nicely covered for a little while. Now. I'm strictly a SNG and tournament Player...Any more suggestion on Psychological and Strategic Titles???
