Poker Winners Are Different by Alan SchoonmakerI am not sure if anyone else has read this, but I am a measly 30 some pages in it and I think it's a great book. I believe if you do the self-assessment in the book you'll discover a lot about why you play poker. I just wanted to make the post to let others know of this book. It seems like I will really help you on the psychological aspect of the game.

On my way to the airport for my trip to LA, I stopped by a bookstore. They had a number of new books and books new to me, but this was the one I chose.

Hope you find it as enjoyable and though-provoking as I have so far.

I'll have to add this to the list. I really like all his other books and have found them helpful.

This book is becoming one of my top five books. It is awesome! One of those required reading books that's not about playing the game but about think about the game. I am almost done and some stuff was like being hit in the head with a baseball bat.
I'm lovin' it! ITH, SSHE, Poker Mindset, Poker Winners Are Different, ITH - Odds and Probabilities are my top 5 limit books. Before you believe in anything, always look for the beLIEve hidden within.
Impressed so farFirst post WOOHOO.....ahem....
I haven't read a lot from "Poker Winners are Different", but what I have read so far is impressive. I was impressed from the moment I read the quiz at the beginning, I think it really opens up your thoughts on your own play, and what can be improved. I haven't read a tonne, but I am hoping to go through ASAP (I have been lookingto improve my mental side of the poker game, seeing as I am a guy who generally lacks confidence, not a good element for poker.) I will post a review soon. Success is entirely dependent upon effort. - Sophocles
