New book from Amazon Kindle - Funny

Postby mchilger » May 26 2009

http://www.amazon.com/Great-Poker-Onlin ... gital-text

The Great Poker Now Online poker system! Make real cash online now.

Product Description

"I met a well Known successful pro who taught me this system online at Starbucks."

Wow, he learned the system over a cup of coffee!

Sadly, this book is currently ranked ahead of The Poker Mindset for Amazon Kindle.

The ranking may have something to do with the price, the 'online' in the title and the word 'system' ... people are always looking for 'systems'

It's all price. People will buy $0.99 books that everyone says are horrible because they are cheap.

People also like easy. Saying you have a full proof system implies that a game can be beat based on a simple set of rules and newbies to poker seem to think that you can win doing that.

Its why there are so many books on negative expectation games like craps, etc. that are not beatable long term.

Yep, no one actually wants to work for anything hardly anymore. That's too hard. You mean I have to read, study and above all THINK? How about some nice steps to follow? Garbage!

I will say I would rather the people I play against read this book and not ITH or the Poker Mindset.

I really don't have a problem with people advertising 'system's, foolproof, guarantees, etc. That's business.

I just think it's funny that he actually said he learned the system at Starbucks - doesn't seem like the best marketing tactic :)

But if he learned it from a pro in 30 or 60 minutes over coffee and is now making money with it then it must be a real system that's quick and easy to learn...lol, I can see the tactic working quite well.

What I am confused about is the inclusion, in the description, of the word online. Was the pro online and the author at Starbucks? Were they both online at Starbucks? Or is it a typo and the author meant he learned this online system.

I think it's funny the book is tagged "firewood" - probably says everything

I'm not entirely sure that I believe that people who bought it also bought Theory of Poker and HPFAP.
