Book Review (New) - Peak Performance Poker

Postby AlSpath » Aug 05 2010

Review (new book) - Peak Performance Poker

This book "will not" help most "recreational" players, simple as that! The reason is that MOST of you (in that category), won't want to read about the significant benefits of health (nutrition, physical activity, and rest) needed to become, and sustain being an outstanding/successful professional poker player.

Note: and those recreational players will stop reading this review right here and miss the reason why.

You see, the average player is not concerned with the important tips and advice provided by author Travis Steffen because they don't have a Poker Plan (also covered by Travis in the book). Only those truly desiring poker achievement and fulfillment, will snatch up this book, read it cover to cover and begin a regimen designed to reach "Peak Poker Performance."

Interviews and quotes from notables like: Hellmuth, Negreanu, and David "The Maven" Chicotsky make the book relevant and timing. Talking about "Goal Setting," "Sports Psychology and Mind Control," "Food Consumption," and "Flow," will shed a new light for the aspiring poker professional. Note: You'll have to pick up a copy to see what "Flow" is all about.

Dimat Enterprises publishes quality books from only top flight individuals and are an integral part of my poker library. Purchase Peak Performance Poker and don't set it under your computer monitor as you might have done with other books from other publishers. I put it beside my recent additions of: Winning Tournaments One Hand At A Time (Vol 1 & 2), and Advanced Pot-Limit Omaha (II & III) by Jeff Hwang.

About the reviewer: As a poker author, player, coach and former Dean of the Poker School Online, I continue pen articles and book reviews for online sites and magazines.

Comments to alspath@alspath.com on this book or other book I've mentioned above or that I have reviewed previousely. It's my strong opionion that Matthew has set a standard at Dimat Enterprises that far exceeds the expectations of quality (content, look and feel) for any avid poker reader/player. I personally look forward to seeing what his next book presents the reader, who just might be the next great poker player...

Learning about this new book makes me glad I chose this time to come back to the forum.

I have resolved to eat healthier and hopefully this book will give me some tips.
