Short handed Limit

Postby Fish Food » Apr 02 2009

Hi guys

I've not played fixed limit as my main game for a while but fancy going back to it, not only because I feel more comfortable with it but it is also better for clearing many of the available bonuses out there.

When I used to play limit people would say 300-500BB is the norm (I used 300) but in today's climate what would be the "standard" for 5 or 6max?

Would I be safe in assuming 400BB as a ball park figure?

It really depends how willing you are to step down if you encounter a downswing. Theoretically you could play 2/4 with your $1500 but a 200+BB reverse, which isn't at all unusual, will put a big hole in both it and your morale. I'd be inclined to test the waters at, say, .5/1 and see how it goes. Aim to make $500 and then go and clear some bonuses at 1/2.

Believe it or not this is what I thought initially! With $0.50/$1 I have a decent cushion to fall back on so when the inevitable losses occur, I should be less likely to let it affect me.

I watched a few games last night and it seems the games are much tougher post UIEGA

Yes Fish, the games are much tougher so expect more variance, and hence you'll need a bigger bankroll.
