Heads-Up SNG bankroll? How many buyins are sufficient for a winning player on heads-up SNGs? I've just started playing them and I'm not sure how wild the variance can get in them yet.
(My first post in a while. Only just remembered my password...
I've recently been playing $20+2 Heads-up SNG's and have a reasonable profit from it. My plan is to get to 20 x (Buy-In+Rake) before I move to $50+5. I could do this now by moving money between different accounts, but I'm planning to play through it to increase my heads-up experience. Heads-up can be quite swingy after all. If anyone else has any thoughts on the subject, I'd be interested to hear it. Cheers, El Yortle I fancy a kebab.
Yeah I pretty much played these exclusivly for a year. I don't even remember my system for bankroll management when I first started. I think it was 10 buy in's or something small like that. I busted my account twice with this system. Once at the $5 heads up sit&go's and then once when the 8+ tabling psycho gamer ElkY took most of my $2500 account at $200 heads up sit&go's. I was too stubborn to move down Every time I called he had a hand I'm sick of them now and don't play them any more. But after all my experiences, I personally would play with 20 entries at anything below $100, 30 at $100, 40 at $200, and 50 at anything higher. I do it this way because the games get harder as you go higher and i'm willing to take more of a risk to make money when the stakes aren't that big. If I was really broke and losing $500 would kill me i'd play $10 sit&go's. It all depends. I guess a good formula if you never want to go broke would be; 40-50 buyins for the level you are at and go down a level if you drop to 20-30 buyins. This way the short term swings shouldnt bother you at all knowing you have alot of padding... By the way, I played $1000 sit&go's with less then a $20,000 roll at the time. I only did it if i had a really good week and would stop of I lost one or two. I was hoping to win a few of these and never look back. I think I broke even after around 10 total 1k's. I once followed Chris Ferguson bankroll strategy where there is no to buy-in to a cash game for no more than 5% of your bankroll and into a tournament for no more than 2%. But I am starting to play more heads-up sit and gos.
But cashing 50% is pretty good and to win 50% is a very difficult task like getting blood into a stone
