Good bankroll tracking software/sheet/site/etc...??

Postby Polar_Bears » Apr 18 2009

I am working my way through the Bankroll FAQ and followed the link to this: http://www.internettexasholdem.com/poker-forum/any-ideas-for-tracking-total-bankroll-vt9996.html I noticed it was a little dated, but was wondering if people are still using http://www.pokercharts.com ? I would like to hear some feedback as to experience, likes/dislikes, etc... on this site. I guess I am trying to figure out what is the more popular method, easier to communicate with others about, or that you all are using?

In the past I have used this: http://poker-tools.flopturnriver.com/Bankroll-Management.php It's about the best spreadsheet I have found, and if your pretty good with spreadsheets doesn't take that long to figure out how the formulas work/linked, and I can make changes to it to accommodate my needs.

I have briefly looked at http://www.pokercharts.com but haven't played with it yet. My experience with "online" programs like this is the slowness of updating it, tabbing between fields, etc...

I am totally coming into this (and this site) with a totally open mind so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to put something in concrete for myself to use going forward.

Sorry if my questions seem dated like some of the information, but I am really a donk when it comes to the bankroll stuff and really have no idea what is out there.

Thanks!

PB

I use a program called OpenOffice it basically has all the Microsoft-type programs but it is completely free to use. I use the Excel/Spreadsheet program in it called CALC.

I have a column for date, win/loss, and limit. There is also some very easy programming you can do to have it add/subtract and do all kind of nifty things.

Mine has my starting BR for each site I play and is set up to add or subtract the amount I win or lose from that starting bankroll.

I don't really think you need to spend any money on software for bankroll tracking. If you want to get real basic open a Notepad document and start entering your wins and loses.
Before you believe in anything, always look for the beLIEve hidden within.

It is possible to get the swanky tracking programmes like Holdem Manager or Pokertracker free.

If you go to somewhere like boogster.com all you need to do is sign up for a new site you haven't played at before (I expect there will be a Cake skin or something that would be perfect for this), clear a pretty easy requirement and away you go.

I did this to get Holdem Manager - it took one night at NL20
