Stud high-low growing pains

Postby NormHoul » May 14 2009

HI gang.

I seem to win at stud/8 at 25c50c 50c1$ but as soon as I reach $1$2 or $2$4 I sustain losses.

I protect my bankroll by going down to the lower limits, but I m quite frustrated by that turn of event. any suggestions ? ! ?

Here s my starting hands strategy ( stud hi - lo )

trips
3 to a straight flush (need to improve on 4th)
3 to a low flush
3 to a low straight
pair of aces
Pair with an ace kicker (need to improve by 5th )
small pair and a connector ( need to improve on 4th and 5th)
3 suited cards (1 high ) ( need to improve on 4th )

So I play very disciplined and I toss big pairs, except if it seems possible to get the action heads-up or to steal the antes

on 4th if I don t improve I usually ditch it ( very good starting hands I ll take a fifth cards like a32 of diamonds )

Help and any tips appreciated

Did you read Ray Zee's "High-Low Split Poker"?

No

I basically read a few website advices , Ken warren s stud book and experience. I started folding high pairs in multi way pots because of the frustration involved in losing very often with them.

I ll try to look up Ray s book
