I've recently started playing PLO with any regularity - starting at micros with a view to moving up when I've grown my PLO BR sufficiently to allow. Incidentally I'm planning on a 30 BI BR - sound sensible?
Anyway, when I started on my Holdem journey I used the starting hand chart in ITH and found it useful. Obv this isn't practical for PLO but I come up with the following guidelines for what to play in each position. I'm playing 6 max btw
The following ranges are for unopened/limped hands
UTG
Raising hands
AA with 2 broadway double suited
AA with another broadway pair double suited
AA with connectors double suited
Limping hands
AA with 2 broadway suited
AA with another broadway pair suited
AA with connectors suited
Big double pair
4 cards T+ single suited
4 cards 9+ with an A
Suited rundown
Suited bottom gap rundown
Suited middle gap rundown
MP
As for EP. Also limp with
4 cards T+ unsuited
unsuited rundown
unsuited bottom gap rundown
unsuited middle gap rundown
KK with two broadway (ideally suited)
CO
Raising Hands
All UTG hands
Limping hands
As above plus limp with
bottom 2 gap rundown
middle and bottom gap rundown
middle pair with connectors
Pairs with suited A
Suited A with wheel cards
Suited A plus 2 broadway + dangler
One way AA hands (eg AA83)
QQ with two broadway
KK with connectors
Button
Raising Hands
All UTG and MP hands
Limping Hands
As above plus 3 cards hands with a dangler
KK, QQ, JJ one way hands
Small Blind
Complete with my CO range
Raise with entire UTG range
Big Blind
Raise with UTG range - maybe some of MP range if 3 players + in the pot
Where there has been a single raise then revert to range two positions prior - so if I am OTB with a raise in front revert to MP range. If in MP revert to UTG raising hands
If pot is 3 bet before I act revert only to UTG raising range - unless I have a non one way AA hand and get AI PF or close to it - in which case jam it.
Just as a rule of thumb (obv things will change because of stacks sizes, player aggro tendencies, etc) what do you make of these ranges? Too tight, too loose?
Thanks
