Omaha Post Promotion for Volume II

Postby mchilger » May 28 2009

Anyone who makes 50 quality posts in the Omaha forum will receive Advanced Pot-Limit Omaha Volume II for free. This offer is valid until July 31st 2010.

A quality post is defined as any post that contributes to discussion on strategy. Post a hand example, reply to a hand example, ask a strategy-related question, answer a question, etc. A non-quality post would be something like "Jeff, where do you play PLO?".

Copies of APLO reach Europe

Postby CoolKen » Jun 25 2009

Thanks Matthew. I just received my copy of APLO in the mail today and discovered

a) that vol 2 was in the works
b) your promotion on 50 quality posts to this forum, so I signed up

If Hwang's new book is as good as I expect it is, I'll commit to posting 50 posts before year-end. I dropped out of rec.gambling.poker about 6 years ago cause it was more bickering than poker, but I'll gladly contribute to a PLO-only forum.

CoolKen

Hey,
Is there an appropriate place/thread/email to make a note of a possible error in the book?

In the meantime...
On page 476, 2nd paragraph, 2nd line, 9th word, is it supposed to be "Protection" and not Projection?

Please confirm.

Cheers

Hi guys, thanks for the comments.

CoolKen, I think you will find the ITH forums to be a very friendly and helpful group. We take pride in our "community" which I believe is a lot different from other forums. Jeff will also be around to answer questions here so you can't beat a direct line to the author.

OhMaHa - I like the name :). yes, should be protection. I will update in the Errata sticky. http://www.internettexasholdem.com/poke ... 64241.html

If you spot another possible error or want clarification on something, just start a new thread in the Omaha forum and Jeff and I will respond.

tx, Matthew

50 strategy posts? This is a slam dunk.

Jeff and Team: Great job so far on the book (only a few hundred pages in). I will be contributing to the forum going forward. Looking forward to sharing ideas and helping to improve all of our respective games.

I have just received APLO and it looks like it will be an informative read. I'll post as much as I can, but how will the 50 posts be tracked and graded.

Just wondering.

Our forum administrator will pull a report to show all Members with over 50 posts in the Omaha Forum. For those close to the number of 50, he'll spot check the actual posts to see if they are in strategy discussions.

Welcome to ITH!

This forum is bumping with new members thanks to the promotion, hopefully some of you peek into the other forums (General, Off-Topic, ect.) so us old school Hold 'em players get to know you a bit too.

(I'm planning on playing some Limit Omaha in the near future so I might poke my head into here once in a while).

Just wanted to let you know that I am well over 50.............I will let you judge the "quality" of the posts. Users should use my feedback with caution

I will not be doing a hit and run and leaving. I enjoy the sight and think we can get this sub-forum off the ground so you guys are stuck with me.

When you reach 50 posts, you can send Ciaran a PM with your name, address, and Forum username to get you on the list. You'll be sure to get one of the first copies out the door.
