KK55 in a 3 bet pot.....post flop decision.

Postby MaxStPolish » Jan 28 2010

Based on the 3 bet pre and follow-up....should i have been able to properly credit this guy for AA. SPR is like 6, but i have trouble folding my overpair with double PP and 2nd nut flush draw. Thoughts??

Without knowing anything about the player preflop, he could have many hands including Axxx or QQJJ QQJ9, T987, etc... There are alot of hands that he might play the way he did so having an Ace was a small part of his range. So I don't think you can easily say he has an Ace let alone two Aces although many people would 3bet with two Aces.

With that thought in mind, 692r is dry. I can see your thinking by check/raising wanting to get value in which case you are discounting the possibility of having an Ace. From his point of view, by checking, he doesn't think you have 66, 99 or 22 yourself so you might have an overpair that is smaller than his AA or some draw so he bets and is now pot committed. There is about 4 in the pot and he now has about 3 behind with what he thinks is the best hand.

But, by betting out instead, it might give him pause to think that you now could have 66, 99 or 22 and instead he might call behind. Now you are seeing the turn and can decide what to do from there.

this are premium kings, but still a big dog against naked AAxx, so no need to push, it's relative, taking into account this limits people usually 3bet AAxx i would fold pre, even on this kind of flop you are still 41% at best...

So, being that is range is so relatively polarized to AA (i agree a 3 bet at micro is 80%+ AAxx) I fold here because I don't have the equity % to call + reverse implied odds??

yeah no great implied odds + reversed implied odds and mostly because it doesn't pay in long run. this kind of hand is worst against AAxx + being in tough spot most of the time with overpair out of position, it would be much better spot in position, multiway or a bit deeper...
