A song for Sklansky

Postby evil_roy » Dec 20 2006

Young girl, get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
Better run, girl
You're much too young, girl

With all the charms of a woman
You've kept the secret of your youth
You led me to believe you're old enough
To give me love
And now it hurts to know the truth, woah

Young girl, get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
Better run, girl
You're much too young, girl

Beneath your perfume and make-up
You're just a baby in disguise
And though you know that it's wrong to be
Alone with me
That come on look is in your eyes, woah

Young girl, get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
Better run, girl
You're much too young, girl

So hurry home to your mama
I'm sure she wonders where you are
Get out of here, before I have the time
To change my mind
'Cause I'm afraid we'll go too far, woah

Young girl, get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
Better run, girl
You're much too young, girl

Young girl, get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
Better run, girl
You're much too young, girl
Trust everyone. But cut the cards.

I'd read and marked this thread to watch for replies, one dull night, 2 weeks, ago (haven't been online in 2 weeks). I'm w/Spoonie. She looks 9. I felt ill when I first saw that pic. The only thing that makes me feel slightly better, is that Ed and others have met her, and hopefully, must believe she's of old enough age that she isn't being molested.

Another victim of FPS, Fancy Play Syndrome-- need the correct opp to make moves/try to outplay them-- especially at lower levels where they almost all play at the zeroth or 1st level of thinking you usually do end up spewing chips-- even against the correct opp you have to pick your spots--not try to do it too often. -- Bugsbunny

Just saw this thread had been bumped----wondered where you had been River!

16 is the legal age of consent in Nevada, so she is at least that. It's possible she is a little older, but can't imagine it is by much. I know the older man-younger woman liason has been around forever, but the key word is woman. If you define woman as any female who has started menses and is capable of bearing children, then yes, she probably is. But there is a "childlike" appearance to a lot of the photos I saw of her posted elsewhere that really bothers me.

I think this episode and some of the other dramas relating to 2+2 and the poker world in general are THE main obstacles poker has in becoming acceptable by the mainstream. The poker bubble in the US is bursting, in part because poker has been defined as sin. And as long as well known poker figures continue to publicly represent themselves as sinful in other areas of their lives poker will probably continue to carry this stigma.

I personally think this is a bad thing for anyone who makes their living from poker, except of course for the cheaters, liars, and other seedy characters who don't make a living by playing well or by providing useful products or services.

Obviously, others have different opinions. And in fact, it appears that David found someone to sponsor his forum - Bodog. So, they, and 2+2, seem to agree that the best method isn't to expand poker, but rather just to niche market in the sleaziest channels.

I find it all rather amusing given the fact that Mason goes around saying he's all about "integrity" and how he doesn't want to associate with people with bad reputations etc... And then his forum is about the sleaziest of them all.
I speak for no one but myself.

This is an interesting observation. Luckily, I don't think the general public is aware of DS' escapades at this point, and it will hopefully stay that way.

But if poker is to make progress toward legalization online and in more land based venues, and achieve mainstream acceptance, it needs good representatives. Obviously we don't need saints (good thing, that  ). But DS, with his public postings, has made himself a sitting duck for any gambling opponent who wants to start yammering about "that guy who wrote all those poker books is a pervie!" (And don't think the opposition wouldn't try to make it public if given an opportunity.) The poker industry does not need this ---and especially now in the wake of UIGEA.

And as I believe Ed has pointed out, when a perspective new player visits a poker forum for the first time and sees stuff like this, s/he is gonna have some real misgivings about the sort of people who play poker. That does not help encourage growth of the game.
