Re: I've been Tebowed...Cundiff has been off all year. Why?
He usually has a strong leg also, but the kickoffs in the NE game were shortish. I have no clue what was wrong with him this year.

Re: I've been Tebowed...
He's never had a big leg. He's only made three field goals over 50 yards in his entire career. His kickoffs averaged 68 yards this year which is his second longest average of his career (his career average is 65 yards).

There is an argument that people got hurt less with leather helmets because they didn't use them as a weapon. I have no idea if it is true.
Re: I've been Tebowed...
To me it's about making pressure kicks versus distance or strength of leg on kickoffs or how many 50+ ydrs you have made and hitting a 31 ydr to tie a game that could get you into the SB is pressure. Some guys have it and some guys don't. Adam Viniteri never had the strongest leg but he always made them when the game was on the line. I don't follow cundiff but bet he's had few pressure kicks in his career and sunday with the season on the line he missed a kick any good kickers need to make.....don't care if he averaged 68 yds on KO's.....the most importaant word to me with kickers is... CLUTCH......
Re: I've been Tebowed...Another very satisfying end to the season

Re: I've been Tebowed...
Haters gonna hate. Despite the bad outcome, it has been a pretty damn good season. The Tebow thing, the Packers big run, probably the best package of playoff games in recent memory and a competitive, mostly well-played Super Bowl. Hard to complain as a fan.
Re: I've been Tebowed...Yeah it's been an awesome season really. I think any of the final 4 teams (and a few others too) could have won the Superbowl with absolutely no complaints. And the level of offence hs been off the charts, but there have still been teams out there like the Ravens and the 49ers competing with merdiocre offences and showing that there are other ways to win. And then there is the second dawn of the dual-threat QB. We'll see how that pans out over the next couple of seasons

Re: I've been Tebowed...Predictions on how much playing time Tebow is going to get with Jets? They still have Sanchez under contract correct?
Maybe this should be another thread ... but wow at the suspensions coming out of NO. I thought there would be a strong reaction from the league, but holy shit, suspending Peyton for a year is a heavy punishment, especially given all the other add-in punishments. I guess that should be the last bounty program a coach ever sanctions. "These aggro donks do that all the time... they take more risks than Wall Street Bankers." - ChrisJP
Re: I've been Tebowed...I don't know how much playing time Tebow will get, but I know when the fans will start calling for Sanchez to be benched. Pre-season. He'll certainly get put in when they run their wildcat packages and I expect they will run the wildcat packages a lot more than they have in past. I'm going to guess he'll get about 15-20% of the snaps if the trade goes through.
I'm not sure what to make of the Payton suspension. I assume that the simple fact of the pool wouldn't have been that big of a deal, but he not only lied to everyone about it, but actively organized his coaches to conceal the bounty pool. Furthermore, apparently the league found out about it, ordered him to stop it and he still continued the program and lied about its existence. That puts the league is a very bad spot. I still would expected a 6-8 game suspension rather than a year. It really screws Drew Brees and the program.
Re: I've been Tebowed...The NO hit is just starting. If Rodger starts suspending everyone he has the goods on, will they have enough defensive players to field a team? They could be suspending 20 players on a single team. Will they suspend players for 2009 infractions that are not on NOLA team in 2012?
Note that the Competition committee proposed a rule change to give you a roster exemption for a suspended player. Let's call it The NOLA rule.
Re: I've been Tebowed...Loomis got off way light. 8 games ISNT 1/2 a year for a GM. They don't get game week checks. They get paid normally. Their busiest time is right NOW, not 8 weeks in the fall.
