Some of our Regular's First Posts

Postby mchilger » Feb 21 2008

ITH has always been a community about developing players and improving their games. We have had many Members over the years who have started here very green and developed into some of our mainstay regular posters.

We have in the neighborhood of a thousand visitors to this Forum everyday, but only a small percentage end up posting. I encourage anyone who is serious about improving their game to make the plunge and become an active participant in our community. It all starts with your first post!

For all of our regular Members, if you would like to share some of your earlier posts please post a link in this thread.

Nice idea Matthew. My first post was a question on turn aggression...lol.. aggression is still my bug-a-boo :)

My first post was during Matthew's deep run at the 2004 WSOP Main Event. The field was down to 40 or so and he was still in the running. I had been following the event on-line and recognized his name from the book. I remembered that there was a forum and decided to go check it out and see if they knew more about what was going on. I joined the rail thread with the latest updates I had found on the internet. I'm still trying to decide if I want to spent time posting here. ;)

Here's my first, http://www.internettexasholdem.com/phpb ... 1458#61458

I bumped it once last year sometime doing something similar to this thread. And I also wonder what ever happened to Tigerite.

Anyone who has any trouble finding their first post (the search function seems to freak out sometimes on posts in the distant past), let me know and I can look it up for you.

Just saw this.

I tried to link it but it said no such topic exists.

I have been lurking for a long long time and finally decided to jump onto the forum. This is my first post so be gentle.

My intro:

Started playing online poker about a year and a half ago. My first site was True Poker. I found the site interesting and very slow. Just what I needed to get a feel for the game. While on that site I met a small group that held biyearly tourneys in Vegas. I went to my first tourney in 2/04 and lo and behold I met Matt Hilger. He was promoting his book. What a nice man! I already had his book and got it autographed. Later in the year I signed up on this forum but somehow never posted. So here I am !!

I have tried ring games, SNG and MTT and have found that my favorite is 9 to 10 player SNG.

I want to thank all of you for helping me play better poker!! This poker game is so addicting and fun, yet frustrating. I learn something new everyday.

Nice to met ya'll

Becky

PS: Matt..when is that statistics book you hinted about coming out!! I sure need help with that!!

I'm not the most prolific poster but as I've been about for over three years I figured I better post in this one.

http://www.internettexasholdem.com/phpb ... highlight=

That's my intro post in the forums, and I found out I had a response from nside (not a shock) and also from Suited. I'm so proud. *tear*.

It was fun looking through some of my early posts. I had some typical (in those days) questions about the starting hand charts, etc. I expect we'll see more of these types of posts with the updated release of ITH that I'm eagerly awaiting..

Some more fun posts:

My first quads (note replies from Bull, Pisc, and BD:

My first hand history:

My one and only Royal Flush:

And finally, as sad as it is, the longest thread I ever started:

Here is one of the very first questions ever posted at ITH, focused on collusion, and my response. Summer 2003.
