Yup - Afghanistan. Deployed until March. Wish me luck.
Play micro and low MTTs NLHE and a little PLO8. Have a 95%, 17% ITM ranking this year on OPR, but a real small sample size - only play a few here/there. Also trying to learn better cash game skills at 10/25 NLHE, but can't brag much there. Read ...'one hand at a time' vols 1 and 2 and like them a lot. Recently KO'ed out of a $5 MTT after just reaching the money. Had played very tight, and decided (for some unknown reason) to loosen up after hitting the (insubstantial) money - original field 5k plus, 665 ITM.
I raise from MP with QTs and villain 3Bets from Button for ~ 1/4 my remaining stack. I shove, and he calls w/ AKo and I exit in 661.
The question I have is, out of position against a button 3BET, can I improve my fold equity against a 10-15% 3BET range by doing a Stop and Go? Not sure what a valid call range is to call my 4bet shove preflop here (5-7%?) (obviously it includes AKo). If instead of shoving preflop, I call, and then shove on any non-Ace, non double broadway flop, can I generate enough fold equity to make it a better play than just shoving (regardless of the merits of playing for my whole stack in this reckless manner). Assume villain never calls the post-flop shove with just overs. I pulled down pokerstove to try to figure it out, but can't figure out how to set up the problem. Any ideas?
