TT in LP with 30 BB

Postby Outlier » Jul 01 2010

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em Tournament, 30/60 Blinds (9 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB (t3700)
BB (t4380)
UTG (t2420)
UTG+1 (t2310)
MP1 (t1805)
MP2 (t5370)
MP3 (t1532)
Hero (CO) (t1865)
Button (t1090)

Hero's M: 20.72

Preflop: Hero is CO with :td, :ts
UTG bets t180, UTG+1 calls t180, 3 folds,

Hero: ???

Read on villains: The UTG was showing VP24PR6, but small sample size (17 hands). I was not concerned about the caller as he seemed involved in too many pots already, so I didn't think he was very strong.

A few questions for each option:
Calling: Concerned about the shoving stack on the button, but if there were no concerns from a squeeze by the remaining players, am I deep enough just to call here? Is that too passive?

Raising: I thought a standard 3-bet would pot-commit me, and I wouldn't be thrilled about calling a shove from UTG with TT (should I have been?) I considered shoving, but again thought I likely would be flipping against UTGs range.

Fold--really, I have to fold here?

Ok, thanks. Now what I do with the shoving stack on the button? I did end up calling, with the intention of calling the button's shove if the others folded. Is it better to fold TT here with the shoving stack behind?

27 BB left if you to reraise.Tough decision, it matters how active or inactive the buttons been.Pretty much easy fold coinflip at best possibe scenerio with maybe 1 of his outs folded by the raiser or caller. If u feel lucky you call.early on you have to give some credit to the unknown players, untill they show you some bad moves or bad plays.Fold now live to play another hand.

I think I fold here......raise UTG indicates strength, you still have shorty on the button and a flat call from early position. An overcard flops too many times, and you are still in good situ with 27 BB.

OK I'm folding this never.

IMO 30/60 is too early to be overly concerned of anyone as a shoving stack but if button does shove and he's been too active then I'm calling if the others fold. If OR calls I'm folding and if the caller calls again my play is 100% read dependant.

Because I do have a somewhat awkward stack I'm likely only playing for set value but not 100% so there are other ways to win here which makes this a call.

I wouldn't raise here very often, especially with UTG being the OR. I'd hate to 3 bet and get shoved on here. Stick with a call and play the hand out the best way post flop.
