What do you do on the turn bet? I realize I should have not been in the hand at all folding earlier but can I call the turn bet?

My head was swimming with the calculations. I think in hindsight the decision is much easier but at the time I was unable to arrive at the answer.

These are the #’s
Your Pot equity if you call is 38.64%

vs. like AA KK or AQ you have 17 outs to win.
vs. trips you have 12 outs to win.
What is your move?
Any suggestions tips in this situation?

Since your not getting the odds if you're behind I think this has to be a fold now.

Any reason why you didn't bet the turn though?

Betting the turn may have been better.

I'm not convinced that donking the turn is neccesarily the way to go. If villain just made a standard c-bet on the flop, he might give us a very nice free card on the turn if he whiffs again. As played, I think that you have to fold, as many of your potential outs may be counterfeited.

About the only hand that takes away a significant number of our drawing cards would be AdKd - but we're already ahead of that.

By betting we're half semi bluffing and half representing the Q which might get JJ to fold. JT would also probably have to lead out here OOP since if you checked on a board like this you're giving two flush draws the chance to come in. I'm not sure off the top of my head how often he would have to fold to make this profitable but given we're fairly close against AA/KK as it is its not a bad move IMO

Betting the turn certainly could be preferable. I honestly really don't donk on the turn very often, altrhough I have started incorporating it into my game sparsely recently. I guess, on this hand, I'm just thinking more in terms of pot-control. Your made hand on the turn is quite weak.
