Middle pair Flush draw inside straight draw with 2-1 pot odd

Postby redman7027 » Jun 24 2010

I had this hand last night. What do you do?

I have Qh 10h

Board is Kh, 9s, 10d, 5h

You have a flush draw inside straight draw, and middle pair.

You have to call all the remaining of your chips getting 2 to 1 odds. Villain has bet very aggressively from the flop on.

These are the #’s
vs. like AK you have 38.64% to win.
vs. trips you are 25% to win.

I used up almost all my time bank on this one.
Your move?

What's the betting action, stacks at start of the hand, and blind levels? Where are we at in the tournament?

I can give you generalities I am not like Chrisjp with a mind like a steel trap.

This is a large tournament. 1100 players with 200 left. It was a $30 buy-in. Both the villain and I had good size stacks around 1.5 to 2 times the average. I have one correction I was not calling off all my chips. I had maybe 1/3 of the average stack left behind he was all in. Villian was the one betting on all 3 streets to this point I was calling. I also believe several called the flop. He must have been in middle position and I in the blinds because I was acting before him after the flop. I do not remember exactly how many blinds we had but suspect we both had around 30 blinds.

I do remember not really considering that he had trip. I will try to see if I can find the hand tonight after work.

I think its a fold. Villian barreling multiple times, especially with multiple opponents, signifies to me that he clearly has a made hand here. Its close but I still think its a fold. I'm sure how you run the numbers could make it a call if you give a lot of weight to a king or AA and not as much weight to a set. I also think you probably have to throw in two pairs as well.

I don't think calling is a huge mistake though. You certainly have a strong draw to win this one. I'd like it better if we can a combo draw with two to come.
