Marketplace for PokerStars T$ and W$

Postby poker_Elmo » Feb 14 2006

On PokerStars, you can play in satellites for tourneys and unregister if you win (e.g. the $215 buy in Sunday or the $530 buy in Sunday events).

For any regular tournament, when you win a satellite and unregister, you are not refunded money, you are given T$. T$ can be used to buy into any tournament on pokerstars. If you win an entry into a WPT, WSOP, WPT, or EPT event satellite and unregister you get W$. W$ can be used to buy into any WPT, EPT, WSOP, or WCOOP satellites along with WCOOP events and even some WSOP events. You cannot use W$ to buy into “regular” tournaments.

Pokerstars allows you to buy/sell these dollars. There are online sites now that are specifically set up to handle these transactions. However, you get a vastly reduced rate. The idea with this thread is to create a marketplace for T$ and W$. This thread should allow buyers and sellers both to get a better price (e.g. Brian Cashman’s site charges you 90% of the value for a W$ but only pays 75% of the value, if two ITHers cooperated and exchanged W$ for say, a rate of 85%, both are better than if they went through Mr. Cashman’s site). If you have T$ or W$ you want to buy or sell, you can post about it in this thread. Conversely, if you want to purchase T$ or W$, you can also post about it in this thread. See my next post for an example of how to post that you want to buy or sell T$ or W$.

Some notes – these transactions should be conducted through pokerstars – that way there is essentially no risk. However, by posting here or replying to a post you agree not to hold ITH responsible for any transaction that goes wrong.

I just sold a bunch of T$ for .96 a few days before this thread. Oops.

I back Elmo's statement that doing the transaction through the Stars software is as safe as can be...the transaction only goes through after both players enter the same details.

W$ will become a lot more valuable in the coming months, so .85 might not do it.

Certainly if someone wants to offer more - that would be great and all sellers should go to that other person before coming to me. I am hoping people who want to buy/sell T$ and W$ will be able to come to this thread before going elsewhere.
