Obviously this is a small sample, but I'm thinking back to the three live events I played this year.
Venetian #2: I made a small raise once before bubble. Pretty good young player who was pretty tight folded. I didn't know how he would react to me, and I think part of the reason I can get away with this more than you (and most others here) is that I look and act like a tight old bastard.
I pushed J2s quite short later and he called me with A9o. I was too short to min raise/fold so it wasn't even a consideration here.
Venetian #1: I made a 3x raise and then two min raises in the sb against an older man with 42o, J2o and Q6s. He knew by the third time at least, or suspected, what I was doing. Still he folded. You'd never be able to do this online.
So that's 4 times and never got flatted.
However, at Caesars I did this once and got flatted. The guy flopped top pair and still folded!!!! ???
He had 6x, prolly A6 or K6, dunno so stupid to fold. Flop was 654rainbow. I bet half my puny stack on the flop with 85o and he folded showing the six. Hard to believe.
Anyway, one flat and 4 folds in five times, no 3bet pushes. Amazing.
I'll keep monitoring it....
Chris
