Bubble of a satelite, turn a straight with a weak flush draw

Postby taz115 » Jan 28 2010

FT of a Million satelite. 2 seats and 3 players left. Everyone has a decent stack which is not typically the case in these.

All 3 of us are playing pretty similarly although the 2 other stacks have shown that they are more willing to see flops than I am, ie. they are calling preflop raises more than me.

So what to do with this hand here?

Raise to about 1200 and fold if re-raised?

I think the raise should at least define his hand, I dont think he should be calling off chips on a flush draw even if he does outchip you here.

I'd love to believe a call would slow him down but likelihood is he'll put you under more pressure on the river if you show any sign of weakness so I prefer the raise.

I didn't want to ge raised off of my hand here as I have a really good hand at the moment. I was also trying to protect against another card coming out as a fourth heart makes my hand very hard to play. I shoved although it is a big overbet. At the time ChrisJP made a comment that shoving is a bit of an anti-value bet as He will fold all hands I beat. I don't mind the raise fold line other than if another heart falls the river line is really tough.

He folded to my shove and I picked up a decent pot.
