Interesting re-raise price. I would have made a smaller re-raise myself, but you were sending a message and I respect that.

Not sure why you don't lead out on this flop. The flop contains an over multiple draws. I think its unlkely your opponent holds a strong ace. With your holding AK is rare, depending on your read AQ/maybe AJ may have elected to shove you, and anything weaker is folding to a re-raise pre. Unless some jackass is sitting on A9 suited, you are ahead but vunerable here. Bet it.

Turn is the same-it improves villian if he is holding KJ or 10's-would't worry aobut KJ, but 10's are reasonable. At any rate, you got trappey with your hand-either the guy hit a two outer or he didn't. If the guy has an Ace he thinks is good, he grew stupid and checked it on the flop. The only hands a head of you are either slow playing it more than they should or are really scared of action. At this point, you are more winning the pot by betting than value betting but whatever. Either your opponent whiffed, has a weak ace/draw and is scared to bet, or has a hand he believes is a head and has realluy f*** it up.

River kinda sucks for you. A weak player who might have gotten away from a weak suited ace against earlier aggression suddenly has trips. Your tight play allowed a donk to catch up even though he was a head.

As played, I would flat call. The idiot with the weak ace tripped up and its possible your inaction allowed someone free odds to catch the flush. However, it is a bluff card on the river and a smallish bet. With the strength of your hand, its an easy call.
I can't dodge bullets.

You heavily under repped your hand and now you have to catch the river bluff.

You have to call.

If you dont check kings on this flop, then what flop DO you check kings on? Or do you believe it is standard to lead out regardless of texture or aces when you have pp kings?
I'm better, dude.

As played I'd call this quite quickly - as said you've underepped your hand so he can't be putting you on anything this strong.

I don't mind checking behind on the flop since its way ahead/ way behind against his range. If you bet he folds anything you're beating and calls with anything beating you so it doesn't achieve much IMO.

Since you raised quite big preflop I dont think he's on a flush draw unless it was A high in which case we're behind anyway.

I pretty much agree with the underlying sentiments in the thread so far.

I would also suggest that a strategically placed comma in the thread title might help :)

I folded and felt very confident about it at the time. I now think all of you are right I wish I had called. His river bet seems so strange I could not figure out what he might have that I could beat maybe KQ, or QJ. This one is really bothering me. In the light of day I think I played this bad.
