PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 27.5 Tournament, 100/200 Blinds (9 handed) - Poker-Stars Hand Converter from HandHistoryConverter.com

MP3 (t3670)
CO (t6775)
Button (t7832)
SB (t3165)
BB (t2815)
UTG (t6455)
Hero (UTG+1) (t5410)
MP1 (t8135)
MP2 (t7145)

Hero's M: 18.03

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with AImage, AImage
UTG bets t555, Hero raises to t910, 3 folds, CO calls t910, 3 folds, UTG calls t355

I min raised here and the UTG villian said he was going to fold because of it was obvious i had a monster. Please note he did not fold and i stacked a later position player.

But was my play bad? How do you play it? Do you smooth call trying to get a squeeze or just make it 3 times his bet.

No problem with the min reraise - yes it looks like a monster but he still called it!

With your stack size here you should be trying to gamble a little to win a lot. AA seems a decent hand to do that with!

I think the only reason he would have folded here is if he was trying it on with 72o but wanted to make it look like he could hero fold AK.

I basically never min-3bet personally. With 27BB I think you have enough room to make a proper 3-bet.

I dont like min 3 betting personally it usually telegraphs the strength of your hand. Its ok though if your opponents will call anyway :D As long as your not giving him the odds to set mine, which I dont think your are, then its fine.

Whatever you have decided your 3 bet amount is at this level is the play I would make. I personally hate min raises for the most part, especially in a spot like this. You really telegraph that you have a monster and that allows the original raiser to play pretty much perfectly against you with smaller pairs, etc. You basically have to hope for them to have QQ or KK or AK and go nuts and get it in pre flop.

They aren't folding anything they raised and shouldn't. They can then check to you and extract value if they hit big or fold if they didn't.

I think you get more value from your standard 3 bet and better hide your hand.

3-bet min raising here just screams strength to me. If i was villian i think your only doing this with AA or KK.

To villian, he knows that you know his raise has come from UTG, and yet you min-raise him from UTG+1. I think most of the time UTG+1 has a very strong hand here.

In most cases like this, i like to flat with AA or KK. Hoping for someone to isolate. I think this way your play doesn't scream a strong hand.
