Hero?

Villian has been playing pretty tight. He has been playing pretty solidly. And seems like a decent TAG.

My image is quite loose. I have been raising first in quite regularly.

Obviously the flop is a mandatory bet. The turn is an excellrnt card. But a flush is now possible. I have to bet out again, right?

What do you do on the river? Do you bet and call a shove? Do you check?

If my maths is correct he has about the pot left which makes it difficult.

If we bet half the pot and he raises we're probably behind but your image means you probably have to call.

If we set him AI he may call TP or a worse 2 pair but otherwise he folds worse and calls better.

If we check he may bluff at the pot as well as value bet his strong hands. Then again he probably checks back TP or 2 pairs we beat.

Looks like a shove is best

Pretty sure I'm going to shove and hope he gets stubborn with top pair and calls it off. Unless you know he is a bluff monkey and might go for the pot if he has missed with the ace of clubs - which it doesn't seem that he is? I think some people would perceive a river shove to be weaker than let's say a half pot bet? I guess you are trying to sell to him that you have the ace of clubs. If you have a loose image and he is paying attention then you might manage it. But yeah I'm trying to imagine if I was in his shoes what I would call down with that you beat. I suppose AQ, KQ and perhaps AJ? Would TT get stubborn? You'd have to imagine he'd fold tens to the third barrel?

Yeah I guess I would three barrel this and get it in on the turn if he raises or shoves. Perhaps this is stacking off a bit light, but top two pair is a pretty good hand!

Whenever I look back at hands like these people generally say to bet more on the turn, so it is more comfortable getting stacks in on the river. I'm trying to do this when I play, but sometimes it is tough to work out good turn betsizes to set up a nice river shove if you are multitabling.

Interested to know what you did.

What about if the river is the three of clubs?
