Sports book bonus chasing

Postby poker_Elmo » Aug 31 2005

I am not much of a sports gambler. However, many sites seem to have deposit bonuses. Depending on the requirements for clearing the bonuses, is there a risk-free way to make money on sports-betting?

For example, let's say you deposited at 5 sites, each that had a 20% bonus where you had to wager 5x that amount first. If you signed up at 6 different sites - you would have $600 in bonuses.

If you placed a $500 wager on one team on one site, and against that team on the other site - it seems like you would make a minimum of $150. Further, if you could find spreads that were off by a 1/2 point or full point - perhaps you could even get lucky and win $650 or $1150 sometimes. Has anyone tried this? Am I missing something?

When you get a deposit bonus from a sportsbook the deposit bonus money is tied up and slowly released as you continue to make bets. Check the specific book for their rules about deposit money.

Yeah, you're missing something, and it's in your post.

You need to wager 5x your deposit amount at each site. In order to clear $100 of bonus, you need to wager $2500. Can't do it with one bet. Some of these sites aren't that smart with their bonuses, but they're not that dumb. :)
